Sex is beautiful, attractive, pleasurable and brings people together. Humanity exists because sex fulfills biological, psychological and reproductive needs.

Desire and Sexuality are an inseparable and winning combination. Desire is the ability to enjoy sexual pleasure. They are a series of numerous and complex actions and mental processes. The most important are erotic intelligence, imaginations and fantasies, the concrete desire for a partner’s body.  The body and mind are involved, intertwined and united in giving and receiving pleasure.

And so, in an era that is light years ahead of the dogmas of the pre-sexual revolution, it is love, and not sex, the true taboo of contemporary society.

Today, sex is no longer perceived exclusively as a moment of culmination that completes a loving relationship, but as an independent source of pleasure that can be separated from any kind of emotional bond. If two adults make love after a few hours of knowing each other, it is entirely normal.

One could talk of the verticality of desire versus the horizontal feelings of a couple: different directions that often end up leading to a need to satisfy impulses void of any emotional connection.

This is how young consenting adults decide to have casual sex on a regular basis. Just for the pleasure of doing it and without any kind of emotional involvement. Indeed, sex can be a voluntary act, without any emotional connection, without any need to know the other person, without any interest in each other’s emotions and dreams.

The world has changed.  Many taboos no longer exist and even certain desires that were previously unspeakable or forbidden, are today accepted without any problem. And so what? We are all free to light up and let ourselves be carried away by our most egotistical and instinctive side.

And it is in this context that alcohol plays the role of “social facilitator”. It disinhibits, exhilarates, and helps to overcome shyness. Not only does it tone down any judgments, and harsh or negative thoughts towards others and us, but it also helps to have a relaxed and carefree persona.

One might call it “the nectar of the modern day Gods”.

To give pleasure without wanting anything in return. To experience pleasure just for the taste of the moment. An act which first and foremost helps us look inside ourselves, to then give ourselves entirely to the other person with minimal deceit and maximum sincerity. Free to be whom we really are without worrying about trying to please others. Because ultimately, it doesn’t matter what other people think of us, we are the only ones that matter.

We, who get drunk on pleasure, can finally taste its true essence, forgetting everything and everyone.  Living in the moment.
